IDEA

Whenever I'm meditating,  I'm usually alone and in a calm surrounding, so the thought of making a groupgame with winners and losers seemed very odd to me.

After overthinking the whole idea, I found a way to compromise. Although everyone is moving their own figure and the first one who reaches the goal ends the game, most of the tasks are group tasks and are played  together.

RULES

INSPIRATION

I really liked the idea of bold but soothing, calm colors and a pictographic artstyle with mainly surfaces, simple shapes and only minimal detail (as the style of the game Monument Valley and different examples when you search -landscape vector illustration- on Pinterest)

DESIGN CONCEPT

After searching for inspiration I got stuck with the forest theme. I sketched little figures like leaves, mushrooms, trees and a fox. Later I merged different illustrations I liked into a color palette. These are the basics of the design of FORREST

I worked my way through step by step and illustrated the figures first, then the logo, the board, the packaging and so on. Later I started making color variations of each thing. Every illustration is done with Adobe Illustrator.

FONT

Of course font was also very important and I came up with this one very quickly. With the free software 'Birdfont' I transformed my handwritten font in a true type file.

MOCKUPS

After I finished the process of illustrating and designing each piece, it was time for mockups. The mockups of the cards, the instruction and the packaging are free downloadable mockups from  https://mockups-design.com/. The one for the board and the whole game setup I made with Rhino 7 and Photoshop.

The whole project was really fun and I hope that I can print it soon and bring this game into the real world.
