minimal os - klexx

klexx is a drawing app that uses sounds to visualize what is being drawn. it is especially designed for visually impaired people but should also be used by non-disabled people. it is about the process of coordinating the senses and enjoying a new auditory experience.

thoughts

the focus is the process of coordinating the sense of touch and the sense of hearing. based on a sound, the user selects a color, feels already drawn lines through vibration, and recognizes the color through the played sound. users can change both the color and the size at any time.

in listening mode, instead of drawing, users can purely listen to the sounds by moving their finger on the screen.

the focus of the app is not to compose music, but to experience the unfamiliar combination of senses only.

as mentioned above, the app is intended for people with visual impairments, but it is also an exciting tool for everyone.

you can save your drawings in your gallery / file manager, but they can only be accessed acoustically when they are saved in the app.

because klexx is an drawing app we wanted to include some colours, but only for the drawing screen. everything else sticks strictly to the OS criteria.
