tiny breaks

Tiny breaks offers you various tiny tasks which take 1 to 5 minutes. These tiny breaks are based on positive psychology and target character strengths, like kindness, curiosity, creativity, gratitude, zest, or humor. By focusing and training these strengths, your well-being will increase.

strategy

With the beginning of the corona pandemic, lectures changed to be completely online. It is scientifically proven that staying concentrated while staring at a screen is much more difficult than following a physical lecture. The new phenomenon called „Zoom-Fatigue,“ can be described as:

„(…) the tiredness that overtakes you when doing a lot of video conferencing. Experts justify this with the fact that you have to focus more in video chats, for example, because you cannot look the other person in the eye, non-verbal communication often comes to nothing or you feel observed.“  *

Taking regular breaks is important to keep on flourishing the whole day. In order to stay concentrated, focused, and productive during online meetings and home office, tiny breaks offer various tiny tasks which take 1 to 5 minutes.

These tiny breaks are based on positive psychology and target character strengths, like kindness, curiosity, creativity, gratitude, zest, or humor. By focusing and training these strengths, your well-being will increase.

Furthermore, the tiny breaks website provides deeper insights for every task by telling the user which strength the task is based on, explaining briefly, why it is useful, and linking to further information.

scope

Keep it simple!

Tiny breaks is a responsive website, which provides tiny tasks, which are randomly chosen. The user has the option to skip tasks and to get another one. They can set a timer to work 45 minutes and be reminded to take a break. For every task, the website provides information relating to the targeted strength, as well as links to further information and interesting articles.
