Designing for „me, you, we & them“ is the task of the class Entwurfsmethodologie. Here you can see my projects, which are part of this class.
The portfolio pieces are part of my free project “esc _ social networking event”. The three-information graphics show the reasoning and the “why” behind esc.
Designing for “them”, means designing for others. My goal is to develop an idea, which helps my international friends of the architecture department from the middle east to interact with the German locals and culture more. My shuffle buddy is offering you a buddy with a different cultural background for one event.
By the design for “we”, means a group I belong too. I designed an idea for the Germans student (I belong to them) and the international students, short I designed for students.
Bubbly date is the idea to go on a blind date with a person, which wants to learn German. The common language you speak at the date is German, English only if necessary.
Esc _ the social networking event is the idea to meet in a big group of people and talk about a specific topic together.
Both ideas are focussing on intercultural exchange and meeting new people.
For the research for the idea “esc_social networking event” my team (esc) and I invested a whole semester. We asked other students about what kind of social networking event they want and how we can establish a format, which is different to the already existing formats.
We tested the format in 6 prototypes already and will continue next semester.
In designing for “you” I chose my friend Öykü. We did an interview together. The result of the interview is that she struggles to express her personality in society. So I designed the “challenging me” cards, which help her to improve that, by doing daily tasks, which focuses on her “real me”.
“Me” is designing for myself. With Luisa together, we share our thoughts about “wisdom” and “courage”. My word was “courage” and I took all my courage to motivate myself again to go to the gym.
Fun Fact: The postcard works as a check-list for a guide to go to the gym, so it is basically a prototype.
