A Story about giants, self-empowerment and how a large depression was created in the rocky outcrop.
The legend of the Rosstrappe is a local legend from the Harz Mountains. It takes place near the town of Thale. There is a huge imprint on a rock for centuries, which could come from a huge and enormous horse.
The legend tells about giants, wide mountains, deep valleys and the giantess Brunhilde, who did not want to marry the king Bodo. Depending on the version of the legend, Brunhilde flees from Bodo before or after the wedding.
The legend of the Rosstrappe is relatively well known and has already been illustrated numerous times in the past. Therefore, I asked myself the question of how I could move the story into the modern context and represent it differently. So I decided to visualize the story only from the point of view of the protagonist Brunhilde. A contemplative, reserved woman, as well as a determined woman, who grows beyond herself in the course of the story.
Since the story is a local legend and the Rosstrappe is still a sight, I decided to collect postcards, as a format.

A long time ago, when we humans did not yet exist, giants lived
in the mountains and valleys. One of them was Princess Brunhilde.
She was shy as well as modest. Strong and well-read. Good-natured
and loving. Brunhilde loved to ride with her friends and girlfriends
through the forests and mountains of the Harz. One day they rode
into the Bohemian Forest. There they were discovered by King
Bodo. He immediately fell in love with Brunhilde and decided to make her his wife.
to make her his wife.
However, he did not reckon with King Jörg, Brunhilde's
father and Brunhilde herself. Brunhilde did not want to marry
and her father supported her in this. Now the king of the giants Bodo
wanted revenge. Thus he made the plan to kidnap the beautiful princess
and bring her to his kingdom. But clever as Brunhilde was,
she could already foresee Bodo's actions. So she saddled her
saddled her giant steed, mustered all her courage and rode to Bodo in the
Bohemian Forest. Through her many rides, Brunhilde knew the area like the back of her hand.
like the back of her hand and led Bodo around by the nose. She
rode from the Bohemian Forest to the Thuringian Forest, crossed the Hexentanzplatz
near Thale and then rode into the deep and high Harz Mountains.
There she jumped over a deep gaping ravine, her cen
heavy and huge crown fell down. Bodo could not do it
and so he and his steed fell into the deep ravine.
ravine. Now he is condemned to eternal existence as a dog,
as a dog and to guard Brunhilde's valuable crown.
The idea is to have postcards available in every tourist shop near the hiking trails.
On the postcards there is a QR code with which you can call up and listen to the individual chapters of the story.
So you can listen to the story and discover the individual places while hiking.
The interface of the audio website.
The story is a local legend that owes its origin to the Rosstrappe in the Harz Mountains. This is still one of the tourist highlights in the Harz Mountains, near Thale.
A wide variety of hiking booklets are available for purchase in the Harz Mountains. Each hiking booklet has its own route, with its own highlights. There is a stamp box at each visitor point. With these booklets, you can use the stamps to mark where you have hiked and plan your hiking routes.
As the saga of the Rosstrappe includes a chase ride with various visitor points in the Harz, it is also a good idea to have your own hiking booklet. With the help of this, you can experience the story at first hand and discover the wonderful vantage points in the Harz mountains. Such as the „Prinzensicht“, the „Hexentanzplatz“ and of course the „Rosstrappe“ itself.
