„Un(subjects)“ invites viewers to rethink the hierarchies typically
imposed by the photographic frames. The photo essay advocates
for a democratic approach to viewing, where every aspect of the
image is seen with equal importance — by rejecting the seemingly
primary subjects, or giving authority to the secondary or tertiary
entities you see, or by seeing the things that are not in the frame.
It encourages us to shift our gaze, to notice and consider
every symbol, motif, and „absent“ element as integral parts
of the whole narrative. By promoting an egalitarian visual
engagement, the photos suggest the observer to unselect
the subjects and put the focus on the absence of hierarchy.
