Everything is different in times of the corona crisis. The relationship with each other and the reality of life for many has changed significantly. After we all had to stay in our apartments while the weather outside got better and better, we now have to wear masks to protect ourselves and each other from the invisible danger. Emotions and small gestures of kindness disappear behind the protective mask. In these times it is not only difficult to lead a normal life, but also to be in a good mood and not to lose your sense of humour. Many of us wonder what this is all about I mean what the duck is going on? This project has the goal to break through the bitter seriousness of the crisis and to face the virus with humor.

During the research for this project I have been dealing with what is more or less universally perceived as „funny“ or „witty“. The answer for me is: absurdity.

„what the duck?!“ is a giant duck that people can wear on their head. Holes for eyes and head are cut individually into the body of the duck. I recommend a blue or green scarf for the right duck pond look.
