This project was about designing a two-dimensional net of an icosahedron and create designs for its surfaces. After initial considerations, I came up with the idea of drawing inspiration from the Sierpinski triangle. This triangle is known for being repeatedly subdivided into smaller triangles - a fascinating concept that I didn’t want to simply replicate. Instead, I aimed to create something original. To achieve this, I used a plugin that allowed me to link triangles of the same size and scale them simultaneously. Following this step, I reconnected the resulting groups and assigned specific scaling factors to each group. This created a dynamic relationship between the triangles: for example, if triangle X increases by 10%, triangle Y changes by 10 * 1.5%, and triangle Z by 10 * 0.75%.
