For this project, I developed a 3D virtual exhibition space using Blender, focusing on creating a calm and immersive environment for showcasing my mixed media artworks. The virtual gallery is constructed with physically accurate lighting, high resolution textures, and optimized 3D assets to ensure both visual realism and performance efficiency. Interactive elements provide detailed artwork information, while large, strategically placed windows integrate real-time environmental lighting and views of digitally modeled greenery to establish a seamless connection between the exhibition and nature. The experience is fully accessible online, combining real time rendering techniques with thoughtful spatial design to deliver an emotionally engaging and technically robust virtual art space.
* Started by learning the basics of Blender and Unity, including their core functionalities and interfaces.
* Gained an understanding of the technical limitations and possibilities of Virtual Reality (VR).
* Created the 3D model of the exhibition space in Blender, focusing on modeling, texturing, and lighting.
* Imported the Blender model into Unity for scene integration and optimization.
* Adjusted materials, baked lighting, and prepared the environment for VR deployment.
* Explored and tested the final project in a VR environment, ensuring a smooth and immersive user experience.
This project provided hands on experience with the end-to-end workflow of creating immersive VR environments. By combining the creative flexibility of Blender with the real time capabilities of Unity, I was able to design a functional and emotionally engaging virtual gallery. The process deepened my understanding of spatial design, optimization for VR, and the powerful intersection between art and technology.
