This project was about designing an ornamented icosahedron, created out of a two-dimensional net. After building the grid in Rhino 3D, it was time to design a pattern to complete and compliment the twenty-faced polyhedron. My idea was to create a flowing pattern with sharp edges to complement the geometric form of the icosahedron. Based on its triangular faces, the ornamentation is triangular as well. Each face features a dynamic pattern that creates the illusion of curvature and motion, even though it is composed entirely of straight lines. The pattern appears to shrink and twist inward, drawing the eye toward the center of each face. This creates a hypnotic, spiraling effect adding depth and movement to an otherwise static form. The design respects the symmetry and uniformity of a Platonic solid while introducing a layer of complexity and artistry. The icosahedron itself is what inspired me to explore the tension and harmony
