What is the future of Better Work?

Positively Socially Impactful Work.

Research Question

Wouldn't it be better if your Work could contribute to the global society? More than just the everyday job?

So we looked into the possibility of a SYMBIOTIC relationship between PAID WORK and SOCIAL IMPACT. A win-win situation.

Scoping & Insights

Initially, we conducted in-depth interviews with experts in fields of social impact, large corporations, and start-ups in which we designed our hypothesis with.

1. Defining social impact: there is a lack of integrative and innovative problem-solving in the sector of humanitarianism.

2. Also, we discovered that there are social projects already being carried out within work, especially large corporations.  However often, these can lean closer to one side, focusing on increasing teamwork among employees and building company’s positive brand image rather than really being socially impactful.

We then conducted open surveys to measure what the interests and demands are of today's working professionals. We found out the demand is there - so, what's hindering socially impactful work from happening?

1. Great projects do exist but the lack of exposure among the working professionals

2. Great ideas do exist but lack of assisting platforms and resources

3. Many professionals wish to be a part of these projects but they simply lack trusted information and people.

User Journey on Social Impact Innovation Convention

Concept

Insync is derived from the traditional concept of campfire.

Today’s Campfires look different from the first days but the act and values of: gathering, sharing, making, celebrating, and growing together remains with us.

So how do you imagine a campfire of the future?

Insync is designed as a 21st Century Campfire where technology can enhance interactions for people to come together in synergy towards better work

Insync is a global platform to present, share, and co-create positive humanitarian projects in work .

How does INSYNC work?

Insync consists of a competition, a physical convention, and an online platform together

Insync Competition

It begins with the global competition

Every 2 years working professionals regardless of industry, can apply to a project of humanitarian innovation in work. Out of all the entries, the 50 most powerful projects are selected by a committee of experts which are then exhibited in a 5-Day Global Convention

Insync Convention

The space is divided into three major areas of experience:

The Exhibition, the Discussion Hall, and the Idea lab

This encourages participants to observe, learn and collaborate with one another.

The participants are the core of insync. The attendees would include insync award winners, experts from various fields (including humanitarianism),  and working professionals who strive for better work.

The space and the people, come into synergy through enhanced interactions, that serve as foundations for integrated collaborations.

For example, at the exhibition space. The amount of attention a project gets is represented by the intensity of the light.

In the discussion hall, award winners not only share their success stories but also their failures and challenges.

In between the three major spaces; participants interact more casually at points of basic needs. sharing their skills, interests over a cup of coffee or relaxing in the lounge.

After observing, sharing, and learning - it's time to build something: the participants brainstorm, research, and develop concepts addressing humanitarian issues at the idea lab. At the end of the IDEA LAB, the new potential projects are evaluated for further development and funds.

Finally, Insync is a celebration - celebrating the success of award winners and the innovations to come. In the end, the divisions of spaces open up and the entire space transforms into a huge campfire where all participants celebrate around the projected fire.

Insync believes that integrated solutions from collaborations are the spark for better work and a better future.

After the convention, these “sparks” are going to be made available to view online on our website for the rest of the world to be inspired, learn from, and connect.
