Studio Module Integrated Studio Project

nur für Incom-Mitglieder

In the Summer 2024 semester, students will embark on an immersive journey to explore the impact of design on the recent phenomenon of Environmental Grief. Working collaboratively in teams, they will delve into various aspects of this critical issue, gaining insights and skills through hands-on exercises and experiential learning.

Throughout the semester, students will engage in a series of activities aimed at understanding and addressing key subtopics related to Environmental Grief:

1. Bio Diversity in Times of Global Warming: Through desk research, qualitative interviews, and quantitative analysis, students will investigate the challenges and opportunities presented by declining biodiversity in the face of climate change.

2. Mental and Physical Wellbeing in Times of Demographic Aging: Using a combination of research methods, students will explore the implications of demographic aging on mental and physical health, examining innovative design solutions to promote wellbeing in an aging society.

3. Business Implications in Times of Economic Uncertainty: Students will analyze the impact of economic uncertainty on businesses and industries, employing strategic foresight techniques to anticipate future trends and develop resilient business strategies.

4. Future Technology Portfolios in Times of Global Digitalization: Through speculative future exercises and design thinking approach, students will envision and prototype future technology portfolios that harness the power of digitalization to address pressing environmental challenges.

By utilizing different approaches such as speculative future, strategic foresight, and design thinking, students will progress from the creation of critical hypotheses to the development of tangible outcomes with the potential to positively impact society. Throughout the semester, emphasis will be placed on collaborative learning, critical thinking, and creativity, empowering students to become agents of change in the face of environmental grief.
