interventions and provocative works for the Bauhaus jubilee 2025/26

As we approach the jubilee of a hundred years in Dessau, it‘s an occasion that calls for deep reflection and respect for the pioneering designs, art, and stories that emerged from this historic movement. Not only experts,
historians, architects, and designers but practically everybody has
internalized the Bauhaus mantra of functionality and simplicity. Its
philosophy remains as relevant and influential today as it was a century ago. The enduring discourse around this movement underlines its role as an archetype in the world of art and design.

But,

it is important to liberate the diverse perspectives and engage in different points of view. In the course, students are encouraged to be a quite bit more provocative within the safe academic environment. We question the current impact of Bauhaus principles, their “design rules“ in contemporary contexts, and explore overlooked aspects in former times.

And,

through this exploration, our students have developed a wide array of
critical analyses and reflective concepts. Our discussions revealed an
understanding that we don‘t need to stick just on the commentaries or repetitive affirmations of established ideas.

The use of irony, satire, and parody is actively encouraged.
