In seiner Funktionalität auf die Lehre in gestalterischen Studiengängen zugeschnitten... Schnittstelle für die moderne Lehre
This semester, in our „Lab“, we'll explore the design of commercial products which make part of a brand.
We'll work hand in hand with the marketing department of our university, to develop graphic and commercial products which represent our programme/student diversity, and our campuses' identity. Products which reflect a fresh view on design, and which can be sold at the university's shop.
Rather than starting from a particular list of elements to be designed (Top-Down approach), we'll start by doing research and interviews, as well as visiting the different campuses (Köthen, Bernburg and, of course, Dessau). The idea is having a Bottom-Up approach when proposing which elements will be presented to the HSA community.
During the semester, we'll also focus on the creative process, learning some basics of pattern design, exploring some packaging, and having a better understanding of how design products can help the communication processes of a brand, and reflect its identity.
