In this course, you’ll create your own archive suitcase—a personal or fictional collection of found objects that carry real or imagined memories. These suitcases will be “unboxed” in short, 5–10 minute lecture performances, where storytelling meets show-and-tell.

The suitcase becomes a symbol: of memory and migration, secrecy and identity, imagination and play. Over the weeks, you’ll write a short narrative that brings your archive to life. Your story may be poetic or playful, political or absurd, linear or fragmented. Where does autobiography end and fiction begin? That’s for you to decide.

The objects you collect will transform into artistic props—cast in plaster, shaped from clay, folded from paper, or any other Medium—as you bring your design skills into play.

During rehearsals, a professional actress will guide you in developing presence, clarity, and confidence on stage. If you prefer an audio-only version of your lecture, she’ll share voice and narration techniques to help you shape your story effectively. Along the way, we’ll watch and discuss inspiring lecture performances.
