Design, Advertising and Marketing are normally concepts that we connect with the consumption of services, products or goods. However, they can also be part of a positive social change. As designers, we have a responsibility to society, and we can use our knowledge and craft to improve the quality of life of people / the planet.
In this Elective Module (2D - Communication, Information, Orientation), we will understand the basic concepts of advertising, discover the difference between basic human needs and desires, and apply the main principles of social marketing, to design a creative communication strategy for a social project.
Students will define and work on topics of their interest (social problematics, public health issues, environmental matters, etc.) in which design and communication could be used to help create awareness and even could bring a solution to them.
