Experience meets Design

The annual Bauhaus festivals in fall are a lively and feisty couple of days action - in the buildings, on the premises and reaching far into the city. Visitors enjoy the countless exhibits, music and dance performances,  browse through hallways and the historic rooms with nifty installations. The annual themes are usually a hint or are reference to a contemporary activity in the time of the roaring twenties. According this years Bauhaus topic, we will explore, rethink, develop and build our own interpretation for the festival.

All kind of “designerly doing” be it metaphoric, poetic, performative, physical objects, light based or virtual installations are welcome.

Note:
It is mandatory if you are joining the course you have to be committed to finish your project and be in Dessau in late August to set up and supervise your project on the festival days in early September.

But that's actually highly rewarded by a curious audience, happy children faces and a documentation for your portfolio to have worked for the famous Bauhaus :-)

Erlebnis trifft Design

Die jährlichen Festivals im Herbst sind lebendige und temperamentvolle Tage voller Aktionen in den historischen Gebäuden, Räumen, im Umfeld bis in die Stadt hinein. Die Besucher entdecken zahllose Ausstellungen, Aufführungen und überraschende Installationen. Die jeweiligen Themen beziehen sich gerne auf damalige Bewegungen oder Aktivitäten der 20er Jahre. Gemäß dem diesjährigen Motto werden wir tief in das Thema einsteigen, alles gründlich hinterfragen, unsere eigene Interpretation entwickeln und bauen.

Hier sind alle gestalterischen Ansätze und Zugänge erlaubt und erwünscht, seien sie metaphorischer, poetischer, performativer Art, Objekte, lichtbasierend oder virtuell.

Bitte beachten:
Wenn Sie den Kurs belegen ist es unabdingbar, dass Sie am Festival teilnehmen, das Projekt fertigstellen und aufbauen sowie and den Festival Tagen dabei sind. Ein begeistertes Publikum, glückliche Kindergesichter und ein Bauhaus-Projekt im Portfolio winken als Belohnung.
