This elective explores how images create meaning — and how that process changes when cameras, editing, and AI are involved. Through simple practical exercises with camera, light, framing, sequence, and variation, students learn how moving images shape perception, emotion, and interpretation. The course is open to students without a filmmaking background and focuses on building confidence through direct experimentation, clear constraints, and discussion. Camera work plays a central role, not as technical virtuosity, but as a way of learning to observe, decide, and communicate with precision.

AI is introduced as a practical tool within this process: to generate variations, support editing and organization, and assist in building small, task-specific tools or code where useful. The focus is on using AI effectively and critically — not as a replacement for thinking or making, but as a way to extend the workflow and reduce friction in repetitive or technical tasks.
